How To Oil Your Hair For Sensational Effects (Quick Two-Step Tutorial)

How to oil your hair quickly and effectively?

This is a two-step oil treatment – first using a moisturizing mist, and then, emulsifying and leaving it for some time. The total hair oiling time is 30 minutes to an hour, and the effects… are sensational!

Hey there! Today, I’d like to share with you my favorite method of oiling hair, which I believe is not only the quickest but also the most effective way of oiling, as it enhances the effectiveness of both the oil and the conditioner, with which you mix the oil at a certain stage.

First off, let me present you with the results of this method.

The hair is fantastic, silky, soft, and that’s the most important thing because this method provides an extraordinary softness to the hair. It also doesn’t weigh them down because here the oil is completely rinsed off the hair using the conditioner. It is emulsified, so the hair gets both the benefits of the oil and the conditioner, and that’s the essence of this method.

And now, how does all this happen step by step?

STEP 1

Firstly – you’ll spray the hair with a moisturizing mist. It could be, for instance, a shungite mist, as it contains some amino acids, which hair loves.

You can use a homemade mist – simply water with sugar (white or brown); water with syrup, such as maple; water with glycerin; all such sweet things… It could be, for example, one teaspoon of sugar or honey per glass of water, and that’s it. Spritz your hair with this, and it should be great.

You can also use a facial toner, as it contains panthenol, glycerin, and allantoin. If any of these three ingredients are in the mist, it will work. Sometimes, most facial toners work, like cucumber or aloe, or even rose water.

So this is the first step – spraying the hair, quite generously, with this mist.

STEP 2

Then, on this misted hair, you apply oil. Simply apply it in portions, spread it in your palms, and apply it along the entire length of the hair, paying particular attention to the ends, of course, to ensure they are well covered.

It’s better to pour the oil onto your hands multiple times and apply, than to pour too much and simply drown the hair in oil, making it difficult to emulsify later.

Additionally, if the oil is good, you can apply it to the scalp, you can do it very often.

You can use evening primrose oil, which is very suitable for the scalp, so you can apply it without any worry. It is multifunctional, so I think this oil can definitely be recommended for hair oiling.

That’s all for the second step. Remember to comb after each step as hair really likes it. Also, remember to comb at the very beginning, to avoid tugging on the hair, to ensure everything combs nicely.

Then, simply keep this oil on and keep everything wrapped in foil, it can be under a shower cap, but it doesn’t have to be. Leave it from 15 minutes to half an hour, that’s enough time.

Then, rinse it off first with warm water, and use plenty of water. Don’t hesitate to rinse the oil out as thoroughly as possible with water, so it can be emulsified with the conditioner later.

Emulsification with a hair mask:

And here you can use a hair mask. For leaving it on the scalp for a longer time, choose something very gentle, especially if you have a sensitive scalp. The mask’s purpose is to emulsify the oil very well, so you can apply quite a lot of this mask.

It’s also good if the mask doesn’t contain silicones. It’s worth emulsifying with a silicone-free mask, especially if you’re rubbing it into the scalp and want to leave it on for longer, so silicones are not entirely recommended.

Then, apply the mask and comb through the applied mask plus the remnants of the oil that didn’t wash off with water.

Also, remember to towel dry the hair to let this mask work. And wrap the emulsified oil remnants in foil, and put on a cap, so that the additional warmth can work here, and leave it for another 15 to 30 minutes.

So, it becomes a minimum of 20-minute hair treatment. Let’s say, it can be shortened further, minimum 20 mins, maximum 1-hour treatment for the hair, and that’s it. It’s a very quick oiling and we have ready hair.

Finally:

And then, after rinsing off this emulsified conditioner from the hair, also with plenty of warm water, wash your hair and scalp normally, preferably with a gentle shampoo. You can shampoo twice. Why twice? Because it’s a very gentle shampoo, and you want to be 100% sure that you’ve washed the hair thoroughly. Normally, it is enough to wash your hair just once because even if you didn’t wash it completely, it would be absorbed.

◊ TIP ◊

If you want to quickly foam up the shampoo, you can pour it into a container. Then take the shower head and simply spray it with a stream of water into that container. It will foam up immediately!

At the very end, you can also apply a hair mask and comb it through your hair, along with serum on the ends.

And that’s the whole care routine, so I highly recommend this two-step oiling.

If you haven’t tried oiling your hair like this before, it’s definitely worth it, I recommend it because the results will be fantastic!
